Common Aircon Servicing Issues We Solve in Holland Village
Aircon Not Cold
If your aircon is running but the room still feels warm, the issue may be dirty filters, a clogged evaporator coil, poor airflow, low refrigerant, blocked condenser airflow, or ageing parts inside the aircon unit. In Holland Village homes, where many customers use aircon daily because of Singapore’s warm climate, even a minor aircon issue can quickly affect comfort.
Our technicians inspect your aircon system, clean key components and check whether a top up is needed. If your unit requires aircon gas top-up, chemical wash or repair, we will explain the issue clearly before recommending the next step.
Water Leaking from the Indoor Unit
Water leakage is one of the most common aircon problems in the area. It is often caused by a blocked drainage system, a dirty fan coil, a clogged drain pipe, algae buildup, or poor maintenance. If ignored, leaking water can damage walls, ceilings, flooring and furniture.
Our aircon servicing process includes clearing the drainage and performing leak checks to reduce the risk of water dripping after servicing. 338 Aircon also provides a 1-month leak-free warranty after servicing, giving you extra peace of mind.
Poor Air Quality and Musty Smells
If your aircon smells damp, dusty or mouldy, the problem may be trapped dirt, bacteria, mould or moisture inside the unit. Dirty filters and evaporator coil buildup can also affect air quality, especially in homes with children, elderly family members or frequent aircon usage.
Our aircon cleaning service helps remove dust and buildup from key accessible parts of your air conditioner. For heavier dirt, we may recommend chemical cleaning, chemical wash or aircon chemical overhaul, depending on the condition of your unit.
Frequent Breakdowns and Error Code Alerts
Some aircon systems show an error code when there is a deeper issue with the sensor, circuit board, compressor, refrigerant flow or internal components. While basic servicing can solve many maintenance-related issues, some cases require aircon repair or further diagnosis.
Our team will assess whether servicing is enough or whether repairs are needed. This helps clients avoid paying for unnecessary work while still protecting the life span of the aircon unit.

Why Quality Aircon Services are Crucial for Your Air Conditioner

Improved Efficiency
During an aircon servicing, the aircon technicians look over the aircon completely, ensuring that every part is working as intended.
During a service, the filters are cleaned, the condenser is checked, and any blocked or leaking pipes are identified and repaired. This prevents unexpected issues and enhances the lifespan of the equipment itself.

Reduced Energy Bills
In general, better-maintained equipment will operate more effectively. A poorly maintained air con unit uses more energy in order to function.
With regular aircon servicing, we help your air conditioner function the way it should without consuming excessive power.

Cleaner Air
During an aircon service session, we clean the air filters and internal components of the appliance, improving the quality of air in your home.
With cleaner air free of germs, dust, and other impurities, the chances of falling sick at home would be reduced significantly.

Proactively Addresses Possible Issues
Similar to a general health check-up, aircon servicing allows us to identify and repair any potential aircon problems before they become major issues
That's why it's important to set up a regular AC maintenance schedule with a trusted aircon services provider like 338.

338's 10 Steps for Your General Aircon Service

Step 1: Clean & check the air filter, front panel & cover
First steps of the servicing start from the outer parts. The unit cover will be removed, and the air filter will be cleaned.

Step 2: Remove water tray
The water tray functions to gather water before it flows to the drainage pipe. All the dust, jelly, dirt and other debris that are stuck inside will be cleaned and vacuumed.

Step 3: Clean & check indoor cooling coil
The fan coil unit (FCU) will be vacuumed properly in an up-down motion and repeatedly in order to not miss any spots.

Step 4: Flush drainage tray
The vacuum will be left attached for around 1-2 minutes at the end of the drainage pipe to clear any clogged dirt inside.

Step 5: Check outdoor condenser coil refrigerant level
The technician will check if all the fan coils are working properly by placing their hand and checking if there is any condensation.

Step 6: Check outdoor unit refrigerant level
We then double-check the condenser unit to make sure that there is still enough gas. If necessary, the compressor suction and discharge pressure will be assessed too.

Step 7: Clean & check evaporator coil
The evaporator coil will be checked, followed by vacuuming and brushing the blow to ensure nothing hinders blower rotation.

Step 8: Reattach the water tray
After all of the above steps are done, the water tray will be reattached again. We make sure it attaches properly and fully with a click.

Step 9: Tighten electrical components and fan bearing.
We also double-check and make sure that there aren't any loose parts left before wrapping up the cleaning of the unit.

Step 10: Reattach FCU Cover
Wipe down and clean any leftover water and make sure unit is dry. Reattach the FCU Cover and we are done! Your unit has now undergone proper general servicing.

FAQs
How much does aircon servicing cost in Holland Village?
Aircon servicing in Holland Village with 338 Aircon starts from $65 for one-time servicing. Quarterly servicing packages start at $240 per year and can be more cost-effective if you want regular maintenance.
The final price depends on the number of units, the condition of your aircon, and whether additional services such as a chemical wash, gas top-up, or repair are required. First-time customers can currently get 4 units serviced for only $90.
How often should I service my aircon in Singapore?
Most homes in Singapore should service their aircon every 3 to 4 months, especially if the unit is used daily. For light usage, servicing every 6 months may be enough.
In Holland Village, many homes, condos and rental units rely on air conditioning often because of Singapore’s humid weather. Regular servicing helps prevent weak cooling, water leaks, mouldy smells and higher energy usage.
What is included in normal aircon servicing?
Normal aircon servicing usually includes cleaning the filters, checking the indoor unit, clearing accessible dust, inspecting the evaporator coil, flushing or checking the drainage system, and testing cooling performance after servicing.
At 338 Aircon, our aircon servicing is designed to improve airflow, reduce the risk of leaks, and help your aircon operate more efficiently. If we spot a bigger issue, we will explain whether repair, chemical cleaning or another service is needed.
Why is my aircon not cold even after cleaning?
If your aircon is not cold after cleaning, the problem may not be dirt alone. Possible causes include low refrigerant, a faulty compressor, a clogged condenser, a sensor issue, ageing parts, blocked airflow or an internal system fault.
Our technicians can check whether your aircon needs a gas top-up, a repair, a chemical wash, or further diagnosis. This helps avoid guessing and ensures the actual aircon problem is addressed.
Do I need aircon gas top up during servicing?
You only need aircon gas top-up if the refrigerant level is low. A properly sealed aircon system should not require frequent gas top-ups.
If your aircon repeatedly needs gas refills, there may be a leak or a component issue. Our technicians will advise whether topping up is suitable or whether further repair is needed to prevent the same issue from returning.
What is the difference between chemical wash and chemical overhaul?
A chemical wash is a deeper cleaning method that uses a chemical solution to remove stubborn dirt, mould and buildup from key aircon components. It is often used when normal servicing is not enough.
A chemical overhaul is more intensive and usually involves dismantling more parts for a deeper clean. It may be recommended when the unit is very dirty, leaking badly, or still not cold after standard servicing.
How long does aircon servicing take?
Standard aircon servicing usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes per unit, depending on the condition of the aircon and the number of units being serviced.
If the unit is very dirty, leaking or requires additional checks, it may take longer.
Chemical wash, chemical overhaul, gas top-up and repair work also require more time than normal servicing.
Can regular servicing improve air quality at home?
Yes, regular aircon servicing can help improve air quality by removing dust, dirt and buildup from filters and accessible components. A cleaner aircon can reduce musty smells and improve airflow.
This is especially useful for families, tenants, elderly residents and customers who use air conditioning daily. Clean aircon units also help create a more comfortable indoor environment.
How do I know if my aircon needs repair instead of servicing?
Your aircon may need repair if it displays an error code, trips the power, leaks repeatedly, makes loud noises, fails to cool even after servicing, or has weak airflow despite clean filters.
Servicing solves maintenance-related issues, while repairs fix faulty components. Our technicians will check the unit and explain whether servicing, repair or replacement is the most practical option.
Why should I choose a BCA-licensed air aircon company?
Choosing a BCA-licensed aircon company gives you more confidence that the business is properly registered to carry out relevant air-conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation works.
338 Aircon is BCA Licensed ME01 and has 15 years of experience serving customers in Singapore. This matters when you want reliable service, clear communication and proper workmanship for your aircon system.
